“Beatrice Ola Ogbuagu (née Enya) is a geologist and sustainability scholar currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sustainability at the University of South Dakota. With a first and second degree in geology, her current research focuses on dust sources, emission, transport, and health impacts in Utah’s Great Basin, particularly how human disturbances contribute to dust sources. She’s passionate about education and community impact; she also serves as a teaching assistant and enjoys tutoring undergraduate students and contributing to discussions on environmental sustainability.
A mother of two, Beatrice balances academic life with parenting, drawing inspiration from her experiences and mentors to advocate for inclusive and practical sustainability solutions. Her goal is to advance sustainability science through research, teaching, and practical solutions that empower communities, especially in vulnerable regions, to adapt to environmental changes and protect public health.
