Vanessa Ramirez is passionate about expanding environmental and climate justice in her work, home, and community. She was born and raised in the Coachella Valley, in Southern California. She went to UC Irvine for undergrad and USC for grad school. She is a proud oldest child of Mexican immigrants, Juan and Veronica Ramirez. Vanessa understands the overlap of colonization, capitalism, racism, and climate change and works towards educating and mobilizing her community to fight for a just and sustainable future. She is currently working as an Environmental Planner, has two cats (Noche and Baloo), likes to run, and enjoys reading!
